With a rich golf tradition in Rhode Island, beginning with our home course, Rhode Island Country Club, designed by Donald Ross; the Charity Classic has been bringing world-class professional golf to Rhode Island for the past 11 years. Right from the start, the Charity Classic has been making history. In 1999, Scott McCarron and Lee Janzen made PGA TOUR history by sinking back-to-back hole in ones at the 17th hole of RICC. Over the past 11 years, the Charity Classic has been decided in sudden death, three times. Most recently in 2006 when Nick Price and Tim Clark defeated Co-host Brad Faxon and Mike Wier after three sudden death holes. This along with the Charity Classic’s commitment to organizations that benefit children and families and made the Charity Classic Southern New England’s premier charitable sporting event.
