Ricky Barnes Replaces Paula Creamer

RICKY BARNES TO REPLACE PAULA CREAMER AT 2010 CVS CAREMARK CHARITY CLASSIC

WOONSOCKET, Rhode Island (June 22, 2010) – CVS Caremark Charity Classic co-hosts Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade announced today that Paula Creamer has withdrawn from the 2010 Charity Classic.  Creamer, who recently returned to LPGA Tour play after recovering from surgery on her left thumb, withdrew for injury rehabilitation reasons.

“I’m trying to play four LPGA events in a row, including two majors, and after further consultation with my doctors I feel it is best to limit the amount of play.  I am extremely sorry to miss this wonderful event and hope to play in the CVS Caremark Charity Classic in the future.”

Replacing Creamer is PGA TOUR pro Ricky Barnes who has racked up five top-10 finishes this season.  Last year Barnes had a break-out performance at the US Open establishing a new 36-hole scoring record and finishing tied for second.

“We’re sorry Paula won’t be able to join us at this year’s CVS Caremark Charity Classic but understand the importance of her injury rehab,” said co-hosts Faxon and Andrade.  “We’re thrilled Ricky was able to join us and are confident he will bring lots of enthusiasm and excitement to the event.”
